One of the many great features on series 60 3rd edition (S60 3rd) phones is the flash lite player that enables you to run interactive flash content on your phone. This guide explains how to download, save, and run flash files (file extension .swf).
Tools: 1. Nokia S60 3rd Phone. 2. Flash Lite Player - Included on all models (if not, you can download it from adobe) 3. Nokia PC Suite - Included with all models 4. USB Data Cable/Card Reader/Bluetooth to transfer files to your phone Downloading SWF files and transfering them to your phone 1. To find flash content compatible with S60 3rd, visit the mobile9 flash gallery. Then download any desired files to your PC. 2. Connect your phone to your PC using your USB cable. You must have the Nokia PC Suite installed on your PC. Note that you do not need to open the PC Suite at this time. 3. On your PC, go to Start -> My Computer. One of the entries in My Computer will be Nokia Phone Browser. Double-click on it. (IMG:http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/5295/1gi3.gif) 4. Double-click on your phone. (IMG:http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/9757/2of2.gif) 5. Now choose either Phone Memory if you would like to save the flash content on your phone, or Memory Card if you would like to save the flash content on your Mini SD card. Make sure that your memory card has already been formatted by your phone. (IMG:http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/5986/3vp8.gif) 6. For ease of use you should save your flash content in one of two directories. C:\Data\Others or E:\Others These are the only two directories that the Flash Lite Player can access so browse to one of those two directories. 7. Now simply drag/drop your flash content from your PC to one of the two driectories mentioned above. In this example, I have dragged "bsn_gosushi_s60.swf" from my PC to E:\Others. (IMG:http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2280/4fh9.gif) 8. Once the transfer is complete and the new filename(s) is displayed in your Nokia browser window, you may close the window and disconnect your phone from your PC. Accessing and running SWF files on your phone 1. From the standby screen, press the menu key and browse to your Imaging folder. (IMG:http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/4974/screenshot0005mi7.jpg) 2. Within your imaging folder, select Flash Player. (IMG:http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/6521/screenshot0006yh0.jpg) 3. Once flash player opens, you will see the load screen. Press the left/right keys to toggle phone memory and card memory, then scroll up/down until you find the file you would like to open. (IMG:http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/3909/screenshot0007th2.jpg) 4. Once you select the file it will open and run. (IMG:http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/4095/screenshot0008yo3.jpg) Press the left softkey while viewing flash content to pop up the options menu. Enjoy! :good: Note: You can also run SWF files saved in any directory on your phone/memory card by browsing to them with a file browser/manager (ie Y-Broswer or the stock File Manager). Just browse to the SWF file, select it, and it will automatically open in Flash Player. |

QUOTE(EchoZulu @ Jan 15 2007, 03:58 AM) Do you have Flash Lite installed? Its was already there in my phone (under Media) but I downloaded flashlite v2.1 from Adobe site just to be sure. This time it go installed under "installation" folder like other 3rd party edition and this one works fine too :clap2: but now I have two flash players in my phone, the new one that works and the old one that doesn't. Can someone tell me how to get rid of the older one (coz I don't get the option to "remove" it and its not listed in app manager too) This post has been edited by DDGuy: Jan 15 2007, 02:22 AM |

Hopefully this post from Alessandro helps. :)
QUOTE If you are installing the Flash Lite 2.1 player on Nokia 3rd Edition phones, you can go head and install it without problems. In any case you need to understand a couple of things.
1. The Flash Lite 2.1 player can run only standalone Flash Lite content. So it will not replace the Flash Lite 1.1 player that these phones have embedded, but rather install in parallel. So for example the Flash Lite 1.1 player will still be available and you will still be able to view Flash Lite 1.1 content in the WAP browser. 2. How to run Flash Lite 2.x content. When you install the Flash Lite 2.1 player, you will have a new icon named "Flash". If you click on it, it will start the Flash Lite 2.1 player. Now you can run Flash Lite content developed for 2.x and 1.x. So put the content in the Others folder. These content will be visible to both player. If you try to run Flash Lite 2.x content within the Flash Lite 1.1 player you will get an error. |

Hy! I have a K610i from SE and I saw your post. I tried to apply some flash menus on it but it didn`t work. I`m interested because I see you also listed here the K610i and I ask you...how can I see flash content? I tried but it`s not recognized by the phone :|
