If you are having trouble installing games on your mobile, check through the following list:

  • First check through these FAQ's on how to install games.
    How Do I Install Games
How to transfer wallpaper/ringtone/game to any phone
How to download from the gallery via WAP

  • Make sure the game is in a JAR format.
If not rename the .zip file to .jar, (do not extract, or rename the class files inside, rename the actual zip file) and then send to your mobile to install. (Check the appropriate FAQs for more info and guides on how to RENAME and INSTALL games.)

  • Make sure the Game is compatible with your handset.
All JAVA games in the Mobile9 Gallery are generic.

**If you get any sort of error, it's possible the Game isn't compatible/or is not designed for your model. You will need to obtain a specific version for your model.

  • Check to see if you have the latest/correct firmware, some games may not work on older firmware versions.
If this is the case, then upgrade your firmware to the latest version and try again. (Check the appropriate threads in the Manufacturer Forums for more info.)

  • It may be due to your provider's branding of your phone model that the games may not be compatible.
If this is true, then either de-brand your handset or get a version which is compatible with your handset and firmware.

  • If you have resolution problems try this thread > HERE <

Thanks for this info.

From my experience, the most important thing is: making sure that the jar/jad files are compatible with host phone. Not every jar/jad are compatible with our host phone.

I understand that each type phones has specific memory limitation especially in mobile java. example: we can not install a 200 kb java program on phone with max 128 kb java memory.
Second, It could be there is a bug in the program that you tried to run.
I am afraid that users can not do anything about it...

i have a lg kc550 and i tried to download a pokemon game, i simply saved it as it was and put it on my phone, but when i tried to install it, it didnt work? What does it mean when it says rename it .jar? Is that when you are saving it after downloading it? Do you replace the entire name or add it on the end? Please help.

hey, im so confused!

i have a nokia n80. ive been doing what you guys have been saying, - put it in phone memory, others folder, rename it to jar- but it still doesnt work! when i download it, it's already a .jar file. not in a .zip . and still, when i check 'apps. manager' and 'my own' folder, there's none of the games that i have put there.
D:
can someone please help me?
im always bored when we go on long trips.

Double clicking it means it is trying to run the file on the computer rather than transfer it. Is there no button to transfer the file to the phone (maybe an arrow in the middle of the screen)?

Edit: Guide can be found here: http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4630259 Go to Install Applications -> Use PC To install
