OK.... my turn... only just spotted this thread!

What I know about sweden is:
that you have a blue-with-yellow flag (yellow cross-like shape on blue background)
that your language is very similar to ours when written, but completely unintelligible when spoken
that we beat you in football last year
that you seem to produce a large amount of children movies
that you claim to be the real home of Santa Claus but you aren't (Santa lives in Finland!)
that you have a large large number of lakes
that you love ice hockey
that your capital was Cultural Capital of Europe a couple of years ago
that your capital is gorgeous
that it is built on 14 islands (I think)
that it houses the royal ship 'Vaasa' which sank on it's maiden voyage while still in port!
that you have overrun your neighbour Finland a number of times
that you are not home to the most northern point of the European mainland :P
that you have a nordic climate and you most northern parts have midsummer and midwinternights (no sun up or down)
that you are a monarchy
that you use Kroner as your currency
that you have many islands in the archipelago between yourselves and Finland and Denmark
that I had a really good time while I was there! (in Stockholm)

not everything :)
- sweden was in union with Norway. it ended 100 years ago
- jan boklov "invented" the V-style in ski-jumping
- Volvo and Saab cars is produced in sweden
- everything is half price compared to norway
- the king (carl gustaf) has a tendency to screw up. kinda funny!
- now they can get 100 mbit broadband at 95.58 euro's per month!
- and soon they'll have 1gbit broadband at 90.76 euro's per month!!!

@dL
You just said something like: "Blond swedish girl pipe bridge"..(?)

Don't think I wanna know what you were trying to say.. (Hmm. Pippa means the f-word..) :lol:

@syborg
True. Much is very like both german and english.
But the swedish grammar is hell!

And we understand the norvegians ok, the danish if they talk REAL slow, the finns not at all. But the finns learn swedish in school so it works out that way.

@vlam
IMPRESSIVE!
And glad you enjoyed my hometown!

To me, Sweden is associated with following things:

Cold weather in winter
Volvo
Ericsson
Rich (but not sure why...)
Polite (some friends told me)
Blonde girls
ABBA
Easy relationship among people

Generally Sweden must be a very confident, peaceful and strong country.
