There seems to be a lot of more or less strange rumours going around about my little homecountry.

Since the geographical/cultural span of this board is so vast, I was curious about what you guys know of it, without looking it up on the net of course..

And please reply BEFORE you read anything following this post! Anything else is classified as cheating and results in detention in detox with dL!! ;)

To start things off...
  • It's country in Northern Europe
  • It's borders are shared with Norway and Finland
  • From what I've heard, it can be expensive to live there (I think my brother has visited Sweden).
  • Ikea is from Sweden.

1. Beautifull women, had one last summer haha!
2. Great sporters! Great tennis players (Especially Edberg!), ice-skaters (Gufstafson), tabletennis, icehockey and soccer (Ibrahimovic).
3. The flag is yellow and blue.
4. You should be blond like me.
5. The kingshouse, mmmm i like Victoria!
6. Places, like Stockholm, Malmo and Gotenborg.
7. Alcohol is very expensive there!

I really want to go to Sweden one day, i think the Dutch and the Swedisch are quit the same. Always see them on vacation, never had bad experiences with them :lol:

Sweden is called in Dutch ZWEDEN

Forget Nils Holgerson and Pippi!

Borders with Denmark (over the water) where we go on holiday this year. We will make it to Sweden one year, but we have to sail / drive as the wife won't fly, and it's a bit far with the kids so young.

Sweden is the home country of ABBA, although one of the girls is of Norwegian birth. Also home of the mighty "Ghostrider". His videos are very, erm... exciting.

Currency is the Swedish Krona with approx 13Kr. to the pound last time I checked.

Apparently, according to a television ad we had year many years ago, the Swedes like to sit all warm and snug by the fire in winter, and then run outside n**** and roll around in the snow...

It was an ad for spring water... work that out...

I might get confused this with other country but what I heard about Sweden is while you were young and working, almost half of your salary is the tax, but when you are old enough, you dont need any income to live your life..:good:

But is the Law very relaxed in Sweden?
saw that in one of the torrent site p.i.r.a.t.e.b.a.y(dot)o.r.g ---they have responded for all the legal threats by companies like microsoft,apple,Dream works,EA,SEGA,etc Like this...

QUOTE
As you may or may not be aware, Sweden is not a state in the United States
of America. Sweden is a country in northern Europe.
Unless you figured it out by now, US law does not apply here.
For your information, no Swedish law is being violated.

Please be assured that any further contact with us, regardless of medium,
will result in
a] a suit being filed for harassment
b] a formal complaint lodged with the bar of your legal counsel, for
sending frivolous legal threats.

It is the opinion of us and our lawyers that you are fu**ing morons, and
that you should please go sodomize yourself with retractable batons.

Please also note that your e-mail and letter will be published in full on
p.i.r.a.t.e.b.a.y(dot)o.r.g

Go f**k yourself.

Polite as usual,

So, is the law very relaxed in sweden? and one more thing, the site is still active :)

Aaarr.. Must be the viking-genes..

About the laws.. A bit complicated.. Torrents don't work the way dc does. The torrents themselves aren't illegal since they only point to the files people can download. Sharing music/software/games is illegal in Sweden. Downloading and owning copies of the same is legal though. This summer there will be changes to the copyright-law.

Sweden is very developed in computing and broadband. Then piracy will automatically follow..

One of the things that always returns are the ladies.. And that one is sooo true! Especially nice with spring and summer coming along.. Hehe..

@Rustynuts
Funny you should mention Ghostrider.. I know that lunatic. A crazy adrenaline-junkie..

@beano
NOOOO! I would never do that! A (very) few Swedes do, but I think the finns are the masters when it comes to sauna and bathing in ice-cold water. Crazy people..

@TT
Yeah, we pay a lot of taxes, but I don't know if it's THAT much compared to you guys. After taxes (31%) I get about 1200 GBP ($US2200) from a months work. And at 65 years old you can retire and get about 70% of what you earned when you were working. And our social services are still great!

@fridgeuk
Norway actually belonged to Sweden until 1905! Then we cut them loose.. After that they found all the oil.. Grr..

@pat
IMPRESSIVE! :clap2: (Suspected cheater dL..) ;)
Only Dutch people would know about Gustafson..
You're skate-oholics! :)

I think everything except food is expensive here. I order things like mad from the US.. Even with crazy shipping-fees I save PLENTY!

Glad to see you know so much! :clap2:

Sweeden

They had the best (p)orn movies from the 70s.
They win the Eurovision about once every 30 years.
They have the best prisons.
They have Roxette (hmmmmmm).
They produced Abba (ah ha)
They have a TV Chef on the muppet show.
Most Sweedish folk have blonde hair & blue eyes and a big gap between their two front teeth.

That's all I can think of.

Vic
