Frankly; I'm a bit reluctant to do this because so far nobody that matters ever seems to respond to any of the suggestions, reports and queries in the thread.

I have been getting quite a few complaints from Followers that they cannot access my new downloads. You can see them on my wall. It appears that since June 3 uploads are not displayed in my gallery any longer, at least for some of the clients. In the meantime I have uploaded 300 eBooks.

As for myself, I switch to the Samsung TAB and can see them, even though the accounting seems to be all mixed up.

All devices:
All Uploads 1084
Apps 32 (.jar eBooks)
EBooks 1052

Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi P1010
All Uploads 1382

Obviously something is wrong. It is plain to see that All Uploads/All Devices should be reading 1382, with the same figure (less the .jar files) for the Galaxy as well, since it is capable of reading ePub format files. All Uploads should show every file ever uploaded, regardless of format and device.

I noticed that my downloads slowed down somewhat, but didn't think too much of it until people started to complain about access to my newer uploads. Now it all starts to make some sense. We all know how hard it is to access ebook uploads older than a few days, since the internal search engine and the tag cloud isn't working. On top of that you cannot search more than 200 pages, which leaves 2/3's of all available ebooks in a cyber Neverneverland. The only way to really keep abreast is through the follow system, and if that doesn't work properly (as seems to be happening in my case) .... well, there you have it: downloads drop.

Furthermore, somehow during all these changes my Nokia (my original device for .jar format files) was deleted.

The eBook section needs to be overhauled if we're serious about building a relevant net-library. The problems are going to grow as more clients participate. The genre system is outdated and needs to be restructured. And the search needs to be activated to avoid those endless multiple uploads of the same item to ease congestion and bumping. You can only enforce a certain discipline if people have the tools necessary to comply. There are a few obvious improvements that could be made without a major recoding. I made some suggestions in the forum, but never was afforded even the courtesy of an answer

I really hope somebody with authority will look at the problem the clients face and try to do something about it. Thanks.

HJ

Can somebody deal with this; please.

I'm losing downloads because my followers cannot see my new daily new uploads. Without a working search for ePub's I depend on my Upload gallery. It was working before you made the changes at the beginning of June,

WHAT DOES A MAN HAVE TO DO IN ORDER TO GET A RESPONSE FROM THE STAFF ON THIS SITE?

I realise that some problem cannot be fixed overnight, but it would be nice at least to have a problem report acknowledged and to know that it has been put on a To-Do list somewhere.

There is little point in continuing to upload stuff that isn't displaying on the uploads gallery. It's a waste of time, especially since the search engine isn't functional.
