augustborn,
Here is my tutorial on how to encode videos for the V600. 1. open mpegable and "browse" in "input file" open movie you wish to convert. 2.go to the tab labeled "video encoding" change "video bitrate" to 102 and "video codec" to "ITU H.263". 3. go to tab labeled "interoperability" click "3GPP" then "H.263" then "AMR-NB". ( (*note* you will get messeges but just click ok also you can do AMR-WB sometimes if one doesnt work the other will.) 4. go to tab labeled "video processing" in the box labeled "Target Framerate" click "User Defined" then type in 14.99. 5. Next click the tab labeled "image processing" uncheck the box next to "display dimension" next in the "cropping and resizing" box click "setup" you should be in a new pop-up. in "absolute size" click in circle for "QCIF" then under "resizing mode" click "bicubic" and "high quality" then uncheck "constrain proportions" then click OK. 6. go to the tab labeled "audio encoding" then under "bitrate" change the "audio codec to "AMR-NB" (or AMR-WB accoring to what you put in interoperability) then change the "audio bitrate" to 12.2 kBit/s. 7. Go back to the tab labeled "Basic I/O" and choose where you want the file to go and click the red button towards the bottom. Your Done! |

How to Change Front Screen on An Open Razr V3
If you don't understand the meaning of the title: It is simply what the phone displays when the razr is open (ex: Cingular logo, Motorola "M" logo) Tools you need: Data Cable (usb) P2kman Some sort of photo editor (ex: Adobe Photoshop, Corel, etc.) Guide: 1.Find image you want to put on the phone (can be a picture or image you made) the image size must be 96x80 pixels. 2. Save the image as cl.gif (must be exact and a gif file). 3. Open P2kman and make sure phone is connected. Find the old cl.gif file and delete it then simply upload the new one to the same folder. *edit* 3/1/06 Forgot one step, you will need to manually restart phone by holding down off button then start up again and it should work. Also backup old file just in case. Guide made by FightTheGoodFight Information by rich2k5 This post has been edited by FightTheGoodFight: Mar 1 2006, 08:46 PM |

Putting Skins on a SLVR.
You need to use Motorola RSD 2.4 or 2.5 to get Skin Manager (or any P2k Program) to work. The only reason RSD is used is for its drivers which when you plug in your phone (Data/Fax mode) you will need to point the drivers to here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\MotPCSDrivers *Data/Fax mode is located in Menu->Settings->Connection->USB Settings* If you want to use iTunes make sure to change the setting back to Memory Card. Some RAZR skins work perfectly but others can damage your phone. Here is a thread over at howardforums that has skins made for the SLVR. HERE Good Luck Please PM me with any questions or concerns or more information FTGF |

MPT and motorola V3C
QUOTE(stupp @ Dec 16 2005, 06:01 AM) well your installing your v3c all wrong
fallow these steps, they work perfectly i just used them for the v3c and i also used them for my v3 czhill and stink: thanks a bunch for your V3 RAZR guide that you posted here. Followed them and it work!! If I may, here is the combined guide. From czhil: EVERYONE WITH A V3 RAZR LISTEN UP. If you guys or gals are having problems with the MPT Initializing... your phone, I have figured out how to do it. I have Windows XP SP2. Before you start any of this, make sure that your phone is not plugged into the USB connection. Make it seem as if the phone and the computer were never together. 1. Go to Control Panel-->System-->Hardware-->Device Manager. 2. Expand "Modems" and make sure that there are not any unusual modems under the expanded category. In other words, only ONE should be installed and it should be the modem that is in your computer, nothing else. 3. Download and Install MPT v3.11. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL YOUR PHONE. When it asks to detect your phone, click cancel. 4. The default phone picture will come up. Now, go to Menu-->Setup-->Live Update. Follow the prompts to detect, download and install MPT v3.25b. 5. Do not launch MPT. Make sure the program is closed. 6. NOW, plug your phone into your computer via the mini-USB cable. Your computer should detect "New Hardware." Your computer will prompt you to install the software. It will ask you if you want the computer to search for you (Recommended) or it will ask you if you want to manually select the software from a list (Advanced). Make sure you go to the option that allows you to select from a list. 7. It will ask you to search your computer hard drive. You need to direct it to the driver that comes in the MPT v3.25b you just installed. Click BROWSE. The folder you are looking for is titled "W2K_XP_USB_Drivers". It will most likely be in "C:\Program Files\mobile PhoneTools\Inf". 8. Once you have directed the computer to search for the driver in "W2K_XP_USB_Drivers", click on INSTALL or NEXT to continue with the "search and installation" of the phone. It should say "Motorola USB Modem" as it is installing. 9. Allow the entire process to complete. Once it is done and you have clicked FINISH, unplug your phone from the USB cable and power it OFF. 10. Turn your phone back on and allow it to cycle to the main screen. 11. Plug your USB cable back into your phone and make sure it is connected to the computer. Your phone should start charging. 12. NOW, start MPT and and the program should automatically detect your phone and start the initiallizing. In a few seconds you should be up and running. Now if it gets stuck in initializing, do the following: From Stink: As it trying to initializing for ever just click on menu icon-->setup-->general setup F6--> comunication--> modem exchange--> choose form list--> on your left select motorola GSM on your right seclect your fone model click finish it will work now |

If anyone is having trouble with their V3 or any other phone not working with MotoMidMan I found your solution.
I messed with mine for hours and this little link solved my problems in 5 minutes. You still must have RSD Lite. Check it out. http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6518 |
