Found a new theme for the N73 and N80 if anyone has been looking. It is clean, and very bright, yet still resembling the true Tiger OSX theme from a mac. It does cost a pound, but I baught it anyway, and boy, am I glad I did.

I purchased this theme as well for my E61. It's my default theme now. All elements work and look great. Awesome details in the icons, just like my Powerbook.

QUOTE(adonisdemon @ Sep 4 2006, 02:00 PM) or £4.50 like on mobilefun.co.uk :robbed: You all have a opinion and a choice. Those who buy it obviously like his better, and are willing to pay a pound. I think it is closer to osx, as this is at the end of the day, what it is ment to be. Not a custom job. If people want a custom job then they will not buy it. I wanted a true osx feel and I got it! For one little pound. Maybe you should ask for a small payment. If you work is good (which it is elton) people will pay for it. This post has been edited by twisted.sister: Sep 5 2006, 11:52 AM |

I have no beef with people selling their themes at all, you are right, its up to the people to choose, but the 'themers', (in adonis post, wont be getting anything like the £4.50 thats charged, i doubt even £1 per download.
Besides, i dont need the money, i just enjoy the fact i have not even uploaded to a site gallery yet, but its been downloaded 1069 times in 6 days from one forum post. |

I like Elton's theme too and would have paid or would pay for it. I think both themers put great work on them, both have excellent details and should keep developing them.
The basic difference, for me, is this theme does not have the Mac icon on the menu bar so it does not get stretched, same with the Music player "apple" backdrop and such on Elton's theme. I also use Elton's theme often and am pleased with it, the "stretch" being a minor detail. Teddy has also developed a series of Mac themes for the widescreen E61, that gives us 3 quality themers with the Mac flavor. I'd gladly put my money where my mouth is and pay for the themes, a gesture of appreciation and support on your theming efforts. Elton, when your theme comes out for widescreen, let me be the first to "pay", not for the money but for the gesture. Same with Teddy or anyone who puts forth the effort. Just my thoughts... I respect the effort fully though :10: But i would'nt pay a £ to download it. |

I'd say the icons aren't that good...and while the theme is good, its by no means special..but I am glad that you supported the themer by buying the theme..

QUOTE(mr g @ Sep 6 2006, 07:27 PM) I think it looks quite basic to be honest, but i'm not saying it's sh*t as i really dont have the patience to make themes. A lot of this theme is actually default, like some icons, the analogue clock and maybe the digital, all of the calender, all the tabs, the signal meter, all the highlights, and maybe some other areas not in the screenshots. I dont want to sound like im bashing the theme, but its these things that take so much time. This post has been edited by elton: Sep 7 2006, 06:42 AM |

You guys really do seem to be missing the point. This theme is not ment to be looked at from an artists point of view. It is ment to replicate the osx enviroment which as a mac user I can say it does very well. If you want something personal and artistic then eltons themes are indeed more suited. The themer who did this does not prefess to be an artist of any kind but merely giving people like my self what I have been looking for. Yes there are alot of original features still in use on the theme because the dont look out of place. I dont think it fair to compare an artists (elton) work with a copier. In its own right it is very good. So lets not get too one sided by putting it against something it is not ment to be. |

Both points are true.
Eltons theme is a complete mod to say, whereas the payware one is not as modded but perhaps does the job for the people that want it. And if they are willing to pay the dough, who are we to argue? Put a price on anything and there will be some that pay for it, and others that won't. I know I wouldn't pay for a theme ever, doesn't matter how good it is, simply because I don't keep them on my phone to appreciate them long enough. There is no right or wrong or even a justified answer for this. |

Im not missing the point, nor am i bashing the theme like i already said, all i was trying to point out was the fact that theme had lots of default areas, and these come free with the phone and theme studio, if you want to pay for a mac wallpaper and background a few icons thats up to you. My point is simply this......I would feel robbed if i paid for a theme that is not complete, i would also feel like i was robbing people if i was to charge for a theme that was mainly default. |
