which is better? which has the smaller file size?
i tried converting a music video by Lindsay Lohan from .mpg to mp4 and 3gp. but i noticed that .mp4 has better quality but bigger size. and .3gp is smller but i can see the video clearly.. i used that pvauthor for convrting to mp4 and i used the ImTOO for converting to .3gp. thanks to pvauthor... |

.mp4 and .3gp are file types, and do not by themselves define the quality of the video, especially when played back on a cell phone screen.
the reason you don't detect a difference on our phone is that the screen size is so small, neither file is uglier than the other. but playback a .3gp file on a computer and you'll notice it will not look good as you try to magnify it. an .mp4 file can be large enough to display on HDTV's if you did it right, and even at that size can still look awesome. so the main difference is that the .3gp format was made specifically for cell phones, but .mp4 is used for everything from cell phone sized screens to computers, to HDTV.
