The episode opens up with a mini flashback of a press conference in 00 UC announcing the switch from CE to UC. The station then blows up and we jump back to the future where an old man comments on a plan that has been set in motion after all those years...I'm sure we'll cycle back to that eventually, but as of now it appears to be rather meaningless. We then quickly jump to a ship that is being attacked by enemy mobile suits and the first glorious mobile suit fight in Unicorn begins
